Dear Mr. Ecclestone,

The Turkish Automobile Federation has applied to host a Formula One World Championship in Turkey. There is concern that if Turkey is chosen, efforts will be resumed to exempt Formula One from the country's tobacco advertising ban.

It is vital that Formula One help promote public health in Turkey - not the "Merchants of Death." To clarify Formula One's position on the matter, I join many others around the world in demanding that you issue an official public announcement to confirm that Formula One races in Turkey WILL NOT carry any form of tobacco advertising.

I trust that Formula One does not wish to violate Turkey's tobacco advertising ban or to help the tobacco industry hook a new generation of Turkish youth to an addictive, lethal product.

Thank you in advance for publicly clarifying your position on this matter.
